The Peter Bay Gatehouse, a modern replica of an 18th century Danish sugar mill, overlooks spectacular views of the U.S. and Bristish Virgin Islands. The Gatehouse consists of two 1 BR / 1BA suites available individually, or as a 2 bedroom suite. Located at the entrance of Estate Peter Bay on St. John’s famous North Shore. The Gatehouse is surrounded by breathtaking unspoiled natural beauty. Emerald, rain forest hills, pristine, turquoise bays, and beautiful white sand beaches are the spectacular panoramas that are now protected as a U.S. Virgin Islands National Park. The Gatehouse suites are two very special upscale suites, rare in their Caribbean charm, and in that they are the only one bedroom suites on the north shore.

The Peter Bay Gatehouse is built on the highest point of lower Peter Bay providing breathtaking sweeping panoramas from
both the Honeymoon Suite and the Penthouse Suite.

Each suite is its own completely self-contained private suite with its own entrance area. The parking area is at the ground level. Stairs lead up to this
second level with entrance to the Honeymoon Suite. The second set of stairs lead up to the Penthouse Suite on the third level.

The Gatehouse suites may be rented together (2BR), or separately (1BR).
They can also be rented together with Villa Coco de Mer (5BR), which is located immediately across the Gatehouse.
The Gatehouse, together with Villa Coco de Mer, becomes a 7BR, 7BA + 2-half bath oceanfront estate which accommodates up to a party of 18!

The Suites

This property has a 30kw generator capable of running the entire property. Each Gatehouse suite accommodates two in a king bed, plus two on a queen sleeper in the living area. Both Peter Bay Gatehouse Suite decks are Surrounded by the Majesty of the U.S. & British Virgin Islands.

Honeymoon Suite

The Peter Bay Honeymoon Suite is a romantic 1BR/1BA suite overlooking the breathtaking Caribbean panoramas of St. John's north shore. The Honeymoon Suite occupies the lower level of the Villa. The Honeymoon Suite has a full kitchen that includes breakfast bar area with double bowl sink, full size refrigerator, dish washer, full size gas range with oven, microwave, toaster, blender, drip coffee maker, coffee grinder and toaster oven. Spectacular al fresco dining is on the dining table for four on the ocean view balcony along with two chaise lounges and a gas grill. Indoor dining is available for two at the breakfast bar. The Honeymoon Suite is handicap accessible. A single parking space along the roadside adjacent to the Peter Bay entrance gate can be used to avoid any stairs to the suite.

Beautiful property with gorgeous views! Tommy was very quick to answer any questions or just give us information!

The gatehouse is a unique and stunning property located in one of the best locations on St John (in our opinion). Everything we needed was supplied, including washer/dryer, snorkeling equipment, and beach chairs to borrow. Tommy was a sheer delight to meet and a wealth of knowledge on the island. He’s a gem of a guy! The only thing we saw that could be improved upon is some refreshing of some of the decor and furnishings as a few things getting a little worn, but that comes with age and use. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the gatehouse and look forward to staying here again and again!

The Honeymoon suite was very comfortable. The views are fantastic! We had a private chef come in and he found the kitchen to be adequate to provide the service. Tommy was an exceptional point of contact and helped out with any questions or concerns we had in a prompt manner. Richard the owner was very communicative as well. Would definitely again.

This suite was perfect for our visit to St John. The view is lovely, the location perfect for getting to nearby North Shore beaches, and the furnishings and linens are very comfortable, especially the gorgeous bedroom tucked into a stone tower next to the main structure. The small kitchen was well equipped and the grill wasn’t operate for grilled fish. The manager Tommy was friendly and informative about island happenings. We plan to return for another visit in the future.

The view. Great location. Excellent communication. A smidge pricey and there are some things in the unit that could be updated. Bed being too soft was our most significant issue. Unrelated to the property: Roads on St. John require continual attention. Most were fine for our Nissan Kicks—and you are better off in a smaller car if you are only 2 people. I should have stayed off Highway 206. For that, a jeep would have been better. Also skip going to Fort Frederick Ruins.

The Honeymoon Suite was wonderful. The location is perfect: 10 minutes away from Cruz Bay and mere minutes from wonderful beaches, surrounded by lush vegetation and birds and tree frogs. Definitely a place to return to.

My husband and I absolutely loved our stay in St John! The Peter Bay Gatehouse was more than we imagined. Spectacular views, wonderful accommodations and the beach was perfect! Our host, Tommy, was the absolute best!! He went above and beyond to make our stay perfect!! Very responsive and ensured everything was working before he left. We highly recommend this property and will definitely be back!!!

This was our first trip to St. John for our honeymoon and our stay was amazing. The listing will entice you, but the real thing is breathtaking and beyond our expectations. The Honeymoon Suite is well equipped, spacious, and you’ll be continuously mesmerized by the view of Peter Bay, Cinnamon Bay beach, and Maho Bay beach from your large, private porch. The location is very private, but not far from any of the island you want to explore.

Couldn’t have picked a better venue for my first stay on St John. Pictures are accurate - the views are amazing from the villa. Very clean. Communication was very effective during the stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Of course, the island is everything. And the gatehouse is perfect when you leave the kids home (first time in16 years). This was our first time staying on this side and I don't think it could have been better. Our only regret was waiting for the last day to hit the private beach. We were the only two on the beach and it's a beautiful beach. The location of this villa is perfect, the view is perfect and the villa itself is fantastic. Hope to be back soon.

You can hear the waves hit the shore and the hills rise around you covered in thick growth. It feels like your own tropical planet! Well outfitted for a unique space, it is perfect for a romantic escape. St. John is absolutely incredible and this place is a gem!

The Penthouse at the Gatehouse at Peter Bay is a rare luxurious accommodation for two people, usually found only in large villas. The private white sand beach is accessible only to the homes in the gated community. High ceilings, exotic tropical woods and restrained decor make a tranquil and restful space. This was our second stay, and we WILL return.
